Mathcad Prime 2.0 installation crashes during Application Selection screen

I got a new computer and I'm trying to reinstall Mathcad Prime 2.0. Both computers were running Windows 8.1, but this time it seems that it can not get past the 'Application Selection' screen. Has anyone encountered this before?

Unfortunately I can't help with your problem but I thought you should be able to get help from Academic Support with installation from PTC here http://www.ptc.com/appserver/wcms/forms/index.jsp?&im_dbkey=142574&icg_dbkey=482

Sad if thats not true.

Did you already contact PTC suppport?

I tried, but unfortunately I'm a lowly student with a student license purchased about a year ago so there is no support offered to me.

Took a little while, but this ended up getting me to the right spot. I had to actually submit through here: http://www.ptc.com/support/mathcad_supportCenterOpt.htm and it took them days to get in touch with me, but I am back in Mathcad action!

Glad you are up and running again.

And what was the cause for the problems you encountered?

Any solution you could post here`?

Sorry, I should have posted that.

The assumption was that the installation file became corrupt so the solution was to re-download it at the support section of the website: http://www.ptc.com/support/mathcad_downloads.htm (For Mathcad Prime 2.0 or 1.0 you should click Mathcad 15 and above).

This was very interesting to me because when I purchased the student license, the provider told me that I had 30 days to download the file and then they would discontinue the download service (to which they most definitely held their promise).
