There hangs a chain composed of two parts with different linear density (kg/m). Given two lengths of the parts and coordinates of two points of attachment of this composed chain. It is necessary to determine the coordinates of the connection point of the two parts of the chain and the point of minimum slack.
Old catenary problem - Catenary with load
One animation: two chains: the 1st - 10 kg/m and the 2d - 0.01 kg/m.
S1=6m, S2=var (from 19 to 7 m)
Looks about right to me
Thanks, Richard.
New questions.
1. Can we have less then 10 equations?
2. What is the best way to create the trace of the point of connection the two part of chains?
3. Problem with 3 chains

Can you check one try of the solution in the attach.
