Page setup orientation stuck on portrait

I cannot change my page orientation to landscape. I tried changing the printer, the paper size, nothing seems to work.

So what happens when you click on the landscape button?

Nothing, the radio button isn't even highlighted, I can't select it.

Try repairing the Mathcad installation. I have no real reason to believe a damaged installation is the problem, but it needs to be eliminated as a possibility.

Richard

Hey Richard,

Tried repairing the installation but the page orientation still only allows portrait. Two things I think it might be: 1) I'm running windows 7, and I never remembered the problem with Windows Vista, and 2) i'm running the student version of MathCad

Thoughts?

The student version of Mathcad is exactly the same as the non-student version.

There have been lots of reports of problems with Windows 7 though. The most common seem to be that some people can't install at all, and others have 3D graph problems. Maybe this is one more to add to the list.

Do you have a range of 'printers' ? e.g. cutepdf, so
that you can at least test if it is the printer
driver that is the problem or that it is really
mathcad (or some other windows system component..)

If you just select "page setup" there is no option to change the printer, so I can't check it that way. However, I just tried "print", selected a printer, and in teh advanced properties set the orientation to landscape. In this case, it printed landscape, however, the page dividers on the mathcad sheet remain portrait. I'd have to guess where the pages ended to make sure my prints looked ok.

Are there any updates coming up soon?

Go to the Printers and Faxes panel in Windows and change the default printer. See if that fixes it.

Richard

That was it! I had it set to the Microsoft Office
Document Image Writer before and just switched it to
a normal printer, and then it works just fine.
Thank you very much everyone!
