Problems with plotting graphic

Hello, dear all.

I've faced some problems with plotting data graphic.

I plotted data (descreat value) and a function (I want a continuous function),but mathcad plots descreat function.

Is there any way to solve this problem?

Create another X vector, over the same range but with more points.

Create another X vector, over the same range but with more points.

Thank you Mr. Jackson.

And could you explain me for what we are making vectorized function?

Best reguards, Andrey Kiselev

Sorry, I don't understand what you are asking for. Could you rephrase your question.

See the attached worksheet. I marked my question with red.

To be on the safe side, I guess. Vectorization would not be necessary in case of your function (x^2). But if you change it for x*x you will see why vectorization is mandatory. As you put a vector (X2) at the abscissa, you will have to put a vector at the ordinat, too. X2^2 is a vector again, but X2*X2 is evaluated as scalar product and results in a single value.

If you don't like the vectorization you have (at least) two options. Resort to a quickplot (by simply not defining X2 at all) and set the x-limits yourself in the graph or define X2 as a range variable.

See attached

Dear Mr. Exinger I understand your idea.

But unfortunary I dont undertstand how you made a continuous function in a quickplot

See the attached sheet for some elaborate (not to say long winded 🙂 explanations concerning range variables (which you should not confuse and mix up with vectors) and quickplot.

Thank you very mauch, Mr Exinger!!!

Now it's clear to me.

You spend your time for me and was very helpful.
