I am a new boy working the Mathcad forum.Is it possible to get an answer to a new topic message by email instead of looking up Forums on-line.If so how does one go about it? How long does it take for a message to appear in the forums listing?

As a general rule, questions asked in the forums should be answered in the forums, for both continuity and potential benefit to future inquiries.

Not sure what you mean by your last question, since the questions asked are immediately posted upon submittal.

You can arrange for mail notifications I believe,
but that may load up your inbox!

It is easier to click the watch topic (very last
line) to get a notification.
It is automatically cancelled after to have
read/replied to it, so you should then reset it.

The messages appear within seconds, though users do
need to keep 'looking'. I always start at new posts.

Also change the default order!!!! Have most recent
first!!
