I think we've discussed this before, but I disagree that comma is "by far the most common". See:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:DecimalSeparator.pngWithout adding up country populations, I would say it's either approximately an even split or possibly biased to dot (because of the large populations of China and India).
