For the first, I tried as below but did not worked:

Prime has a rows selector, [Ctrl-Shft-R], and to select the first row:

And a column selector [Ctrl-Shft-C], and to select the first column:

Note how the angle brackets around the 0 differ.

Now compare  that to your two programs for f1 and f2.
