Community Tip - When posting, your subject should be specific and summarize your question. Here are some additional tips on asking a great question. X
I am dealing with matrixes and vectors and have an example problem I dont quite understand.
The position of a satellite is P=(2,5,4). A warning signal is activated if an object comes within 3 units of the satellite.
Decide if a meteor which travels along a line that goes through A=(1,5,2) and B=(3,-1,5) is going to activate the signal.
Show calculations and explain reasoning with 2-3 sentences.

It would be better (i.e. for you) if instead of just posting your homework questions you posted a worksheet showing that you have at least attempted an answer.
First find the equation of the line from A and B. The distance between two points is sqrt((x2-x1)^2+(y2-y1)^2+(z2-z1)^2). So next find the minimum distance from the line to the point P using this expression.
