A typical optimization problem with the objective function, optimization parameters and constraints solved in this study. The search for optimal values of the pressure of the steam extraction from the turbine for feedwater heating to improve the thermal efficiency of the Rankine cycle is used. Symbolic mathematics and graphical tools to solve this problem are described.
