Symbolic solution for a system of symbolic equation

Hi there,

I'am a new user on Mathcad software and i'am getting stuck on a very simple problem, which i can solve manually, but i want to practise a bit with Mathcad.

My problem is the following, i got two symbolic functions called C1 and C2 in my worksheet, which i want to be equal to zero (each of them). My two variables are Ti and Tn. When i tried to solved those equation i got an undefined solution.

Thanks to tell me where i'am wrong.

Sébastien

You can reach a wider audience if you additionally provide a screenshot or pdf print of your sheet, as many of us did not bother upgrading to Prime 3.1 and so cannot read P31 files (just P30).

Werner,

PDF version of this worksheet in attachment.

May be so

Hi Werner,

Next time i will do that, thanks.

Hi Valery,

Thanks a lot. Mathcad is intransigent about syntax. Are there some "books" about syntax in Mathcad ? I was looking for your solution about one hour on google without success.

Thanks again

Sébastien

Thanks! See please The parts of book of Valery Ochkov

I use in Mathcad only solve, substitute, simplify, coeff and a couple others symbolic operators.

See please Study 6. Symbolic mathematics and 3D-graphics in thermal engineering

When I need more I use... Maple

Hi,

You should always post your mathcad worksheet.

I think your units of m1, m2 are wrong, or those of k1 and k2.

But apart from that, how's this:

Success!

I recommend to you a book by Brent Maxfield "Engineering with Mathcad":

Essential Mathcad for Engineering, Science, and Math w/ CD, Second Edition

Essential PTC Mathcad Prime 3.0

Valery, Vladimir,

Thanks a lot for your recommendations .
