Thats sad, but maybe you can be a bit more precise in describing what you are trying to do. With which version of Mathcad or Prime are you trying to open which file? And in as much would this affect that you purchased a full MC15 when you purchased Prime2?

As a hint - this is how PTC in its wisdom had decided it has to be:

  • Open Prime files (mcdx) in Mathcad 15 and below - no way.
  • Save files with Prime in MC15 format or convert otherwise - not possible
  • Open MC15 files in Prime - not possible, but you have the option to convert the files from Mathcad to Prime format in an extra step if you have MC15 installed. This will work and be painless only for the most basic sheets
  • Open Prime3 files with the older Prime2 - not possible, you will just see an empty sheet
  • Convert a Prime3 file to Prime2 format - not possible

Guess you begin to get an idea what you have bought, right?

Maybe a good idea to use MC15 for work and forget about Prime2 other than for playing around.

And to answer the question not posed in the caption: Yes, usually you are entitled to use the fully functional Mathcad 15 when you buy Prime. The license file you get during installation of Prime is valid for MC15 as well.

It seems that you are trying to open a file created in Prime 3.0 version?
