Hi,
I am trying to make a calculation sheet however i have unit problems since mathcad doesn't seem to work correctly.
First is calculating parallel resistance gives a weird result but can manually be corrected.
For example RPV should come as ohms then further down Ilimh*RPV should clearly come as volts.....
Solved! Go to Solution.
I have figured out, base units was activated. No issue
then further down Ilimh*RPV should clearly come as volts.....
Which it actually does - or in an equivalent unit melange if you have "base units" turned on.
The error message (which you unfortunately don't show in your screenshot) stems from the fact that V.VLIMC is a current and not a voltage (see the expression above the erroneous expression) and Prime correctly refuses to add current and voltage.
So the "strange" units you see in results may stem from the "use only base units" setting, but the error is not related to it! You simply can't add ampères and volts.
For future questions I'd strongly recommend that you
1) attach the worksheet itself if ever possible and not just a picture.
and
2) say which version of Prime you are using (which is especially important in case you are not using the version which is latest at the time of posting)
Hmmm, read the title of this thread...

Touché 🙂
OK, that covers my second recommendation but not the attachment of the file.
Although I have to admit that I really would prefer that information not only in the title but in the thread body text, too, as the title is usually beyond my perception when I start reading a thread 😉
