Unit Problems

The equation is a bisic heat transfer one Q=mcp(To-Ti) Q = 50kW, m = 0.6m^3/hr, cp = 3.3 kj/kgK Ti = 10C when I transpose this equation for To the equation turns the m, cp Ti red stating that this value has Length^5, Time^-3 and must have units power. I think I'm missing something but not sure what

To=(Q/m*cp) + Ti So Q/m*cp must have units of temperature. That is not the case though. Q is in Joules. m is a mass: e.g. kg Richard

Hi Richard Thanks for the reply thinking about it last night and your right I was using the volumetric flow rate and not the mass flow rate however setting mass flow rate to kg/s has solved this one regards Alastair
