That depends on why the file is corrupted. A Mathcad file ending in XMCD should have as the last line
< \ worksheet > (without spaces)
If any characters are present after this, Mathcad sees the file as corrupt.
There are other reasons for a file to be corrupt, and the XMCD format permits a person skilled in XML formatting to attempt a repair by either fixing mistakes or deleting offending regions.
