how to substitute an avatar with a picture

I am trying to display a picture and not an avatar on my profile. I put a picture (principale) on my profile. I check how to substitute the chosen avatar with this picture but I didn't find how. Have someone any idea ?

Click on your name below the PTC icon at the top of the page and then click the 'change photo and avatar'. From there you can upload a picture.

Thank you for answering but it is what I did.

The picture appears on my profile when I click on change "picture and avatar" but the picture which appears on the discussion forums is the selected avatar and not my picture
