What happens when a simple urgent change takes more time then senior management is willing to wait? At iRobot they spent nine months of rethinking the way the company wanted to approach changes. During the presentation, the presenter will discuss the approach they used to capture what the company wanted their change process to be, the changes they made to streamline the process and the usability improvements that helped them get the user community behind the changes. The presenter will discuss the main goals of the process were to:
A flexible process required a significant amount of thought and planning to make a process repeatable, yet flexible. A customization was created to allow the user to specify which tasks must be completed for this change, the user could also specify who was to complete and review the work, when the timing of the task would be fired in the process. If the supplied list of tasks was not sufficient the user could add a custom task. The end result was a process that the senior management team supported and the end users didn't fear.
