Thank you for your post, I have downloaded Creo version 4.0 and have installed it, however when I open it I get a message "license request failure". I checked in C:\ProgramData\PTC\Licensing for the license file and it is there BE410708EDSTUDENTEDK12_license, this is the license the program loads up. But apparently the installed program is not recognizing this file as the license file.
In a previous post I requested another license file which I got "sw_license_email_4015076". I dropped this .DAT file into the same folder above and that one does not work either.
Is the standard CREO 4.O version the student version? Is there a product code I should be using for the student version? that matches the license file?

Hi,
1.]
According to my knowledge base BE410708EDSTUDENTEDK12 is Creo 4.0 Product code.
2.]
If you open BE410708EDSTUDENTEDK12_license.dat file you will see a couple of INCREMENT blocks
I think the file contains line similar to the following one
INCREMENT CREOPMA_SchoolSTD4 ptc_d vv.0 dd-mm-yyyy \
3.]
CREOPMA_SchoolSTD4 is the name of Creo Parametric license
vv.0 is license version ... for Creo 4.0 you need 35.0 or higher
dd-mm-yyyy is license end date
4.]
License file path and license name is mentioned in parametric.psf file located in Creo4_LOADPOINT\Creo 4.0\Mxxx\Parametric\bin directory. Open the file in Notepad and check/correct following lines.
ENV=PTC_D_LICENSE_FILE-=absolute_path_to_BE410708EDSTUDENTEDK12_license.dat_file
ENV=CREOPMA_FEATURE_NAME=CREOPMA_SchoolSTD4 ()
Which link do you use?

Hello,
I down loaded Creo 6.0 by mistake two weeks ago.
My teacher told me that we are using 4.0 so I should down load that instead. I uninstalled 6.0. I installed 4.0 on Tuesday.
Now when ever I go to open the 4.0 I get the error message; "License request failed for feature" and " Invalid feature name" (FEATURE_NAME)
Can you assist me in opening your program?
Thank you,

Hi,
look into C:\ProgramData\PTC\Licensing directory. I hope you will find there license file related to Creo 6.0. You can use this file to run Creo 4.0.
Suggestion:
1.) uninstall Creo 4.0
2.) install Creo 4.0 ... do not enter Product code, instead of it put path to license file into Source field
Hi Martin,
As you suggested I uninstalled version 4.0.
I have been trying to down load 4.0 from the PTC site. https://www.ptc.com/en/academic-program/academic-products/free-software/creo-college-download/thank-you
I have been getting this for about half and hour.

Hi,
to download 4 GB zip file, go to https://support.ptc.com/appserver/auth/it/esd/academicFree.jsp page and use HTTPS link to start download. Also you have to login using your PTC account.
Note: When download is finished, you have to unpack zip file before your launch setup.exe
BTW ... did you find license file in C:\ProgramData\PTC\Licensing directory ?
