Hi!
Creo Simulate has a feature called distributed computing. Is this some parallel computing using e.g. MPI distributing a simulation load over multiple nodes? Is there any good setup-How-To? Is this feature always included or do we need an additional license (for each node)?
Any recommendations for setup or benchmarks for achievable speedup.
br Bernhard

Bernhard,
I don't think that 'distributed computing' requires and advanced license.
There is a bit of info in the help, excerpt below
Pro/ENGINEER
uses distributed computing technology to augment your existing hardware
so that it can perform computationally intensive tasks.
Distributed computing technology is comprised of the
following:
A session of Pro/ENGINEER (the controller)
Participating networked workstations
A daemon running on each participating
workstation
One or more agents running on the workstations
(Pro/ENGINEER sessions running as server processes)
A task (a collection of jobs)
The following steps outline how distributing computing
technology works:
etc.

Hello Bernhard,
this is the regular distributed batch functionality from Creo Parametric.
It allows to run tasks (e.g. a simulation analysis) on a remote host (server), while continuing work on your client or going home for the day, but it cannot split the load of one task over multiple nodes.
Thanks,
Gunter
Hi Gunter,
THanks for the respons.
Is an additional license available to split the load over multiple nodes?
Are there any maximum values for RAM (64 GB for Creo 1.0?) and CPU cores Simulate can use?
I have read about RAM-Disks so a PCIe SSD would be a good option too?
br Bernhard
Bernhard,
You need a license for each node.

so there is an option to distribute the workload of a single simulation over multiple nodes? Do we need a standard simulation license or a special "distributed simulation" license for each node?

Have you ever try to to this?
To split the workload over multiple PC of the office's network?
Have you some pdf to share with us? A walkthrough video?
