Creo licensing problem (Starting...)

I downloaded the 6.0 version, but by installing I can't activate my license (it's a .txt file from my school). Under status label it writes "Starting...", I wait long time, but nothing change, so I can't click next. A saw replies for my problem, but nothing helped.

Thanks for helping!

Hi,

You should open a case with PTC Technical Support for assistance.

Abhinav

Hi,

open your license file on Notepad. Does the file contain following lines?

SERVER __HOSTNAME__ PTC_HOSTID=xx-xx-xx-xx-xx-xx 7788
DAEMON ptc_d __PTCD_PATH__

xx-xx-xx-xx-xx-xx represents MAC address of your network card

If the answer is YES then check whether MS Visual C++ 2013 Redistributable Package (Update 5) package is installed on your PC.

"Starting..." status can also mean that FLEXnet is already installed on your PC and you are trying to install it again using current installer functionality.

The license file include the mentioned 2 row, I tried again the licensing, but now status bar writes NOTHING (neither Starting).

Hi,

what Creo version did you install before Creo 6.0 ?

Go to C:\Program Files\PTC\FLEXnet Admin License Server\bin directory, run ptcstatus.bat and upload picture of Command prompt window.

Open Services and look for lmadmin_ptc service. Is it available ?

Please just answer my questions ... I'll send you additional information according to your response.

I used earlier 4.0 and 5.0 version.

I heven't FLEXnet Admin License Server in C:\Program Files\PTC in but I searched in C:\Program Files\PTC\Creo 6.0.2.0\Parametric\bin a ptcstatus.bin file (in picture). Now  I use general student license from ptc.com (after just a registration), it works, but we need more in a school race car design team. But my license (upper) is a special license with more possibilities with special request from PTC through my teacher.

I can't find lmadmin_ptc in services.

Hi,

1.]

Check whether MS Visual C++ 2013 Redistributable Package (Update 5) package is installed on your PC and install it if it is not present.

2.]

Create C:\PTC_license directory (set appropriate access rights), move sw_license_email_4513182.dat into this directory and execute Creo installation. I guess installer does not like non-english characters in path to license file.

Unfortunately it doesn't work

Hi,

I am sorry I do not have any other idea.

Hi,

You can create a manual service by using LMGRD instead of LMADMIN so that you can move on.

Refer to the article https://www.ptc.com/en/support/article?n=CS21689

Hope this helps.

Thanks,

Sandeep

Hi,

OP cannot create service manually, because C:\Program Files\PTC\FLEXnet Admin License Server does not exist.

Also I think that he cannot access CS21689 article.
