FX 3800 Driver Version

Out first client has just moved to Creo2 and I'm finding it sluggish.
I'm thinking an updated graphics driver may help. Here are my system
specs:

Dell T5500

Windows 7 64 bit

Xeon E5630 2.53GHz

6GB RAM

Nvidia Quadro FX3800

Driver version 191.75

Bios 62.00.74.00.0B

DirectX 11.0

I'm going to update to the latest driver but I know that sometimes the
latest driver isn't the best so I thought I'd see if anyone has any
experience here. Drivers to avoid with Creo2, etc.

I've found Creo 2 to be very sluggish, regardless of RAM and video card. Here's what I've discovered:

Graphics card with 2GB RAM (Quadro 4000 helps)

Changing from the Smart filter by creating "My Filter" in the Selection option of the File/Options panel helps. Since I'm always selecting edges and surfaces, I put those items in "My Filter" and make sure the box is checked for "Set My Filter as the default selection filter". That speeds it up a lot when selecting items and trying to do dynamic panning and rotating. The only time I've noticed that My Filter is not reset to the default, is when I'm leaving IDD. It's set to Smart and the sluggishness returns. Another process that kills performance is surface copying. If the filter is set to "All", it's very slow, but once you set it to Surface, it's much quicker. Once you get specific with what you can select, speed picks up.

I'm beginning to wonder if there's some sort of memory leak with the Smart filter, or the default filters in general.

We found huge quality difference in performance / quality between Wildfire
4 and Creo 2 with Anti-aliasing, which is an enhancement for Creo.

Officially still running W4 and testing Creo 2, so we toggle between
settings when running each version.

Graphics Card Setup - Manage 3D settings>Program settings>Antialiasing -
Mode
Wildfire 4 - Override any application setting
Creo 2 - Enhance the application setting

Creo Parametric Setup:
File>Options>Entity Display>Anti-Aliasing: 32 X (max value)

Dell T7500
Win7 x64
Xeon X5687 3.6GHz
12GB
Quadro 5000 2GB Driver: 8.17.12.9703
