Saving features

Can someone please tell me how to save and recover features correctly for an assembly?

I had an assembly completely normal, saved it, closed the program, opened Creo and then the file; just to find out that everything is messed up. Looks like saving features is not a quality of Creo or perhaps I need several steps to "simply" save a file.

Caonabo,

Are all sub assemblies and parts available in one folder? If not, assembly will fail to retrieve components and sub assemblies. In such case you may need to retrieve missing components or use search path to define location of components.
