Any CSV file generated by the Data Export mashup function is formatting any string data fields like an excel formula (ie string value: Example; in CSV file: ="Example").

This improper formatting is visible both in Excel as well as when opening the CSV file in a text editor like Notepad++

This issue only occurs when the Data Export option is set to "CSV Excel Formatted". When the Exporter option is set to "CSV Standard" any string fields are treated and formatted as plain strings. This workaround however comes with the warning: "Enabling this property allows users to export data in a non-sanitized CSV format. Use this option only if you trust the data source." implying that this option should generally not be used.

Inclusion of a BOM had no effect on this issue with either formatting option.

What can I do to prevent the improper formatting of the string data? The issue is affecting the ability of users to analyze the exported CSV data when needed.
