Hi,
I always used a generated license.bin file from the License Management Portal. While we are installing through the Thingworx installer, we have a license configurator where we enter details such as the username and password for the License Management portal. The license configuration then automatically generates the license.bin file and activates it.
I would like to know what is the technically correct way:
Once the password changes, the license configurator may have trouble renewing it.
Or once the license expires, there is a downtime to generate a new one and restart the machine (although we can pre-check the expiration date and do things in advance)
Thanks,

Hi @pshashipreetham,
There are two ways to license ThingWorx as shown below. Any of them can be achieved either manually or via License Configurator. Both are correct, and there is no "Best" way, you just select one way that suits you the most.
1) Installing a ThingWorx License in Connected Mode
2) Installing a ThingWorx License in Disconnected Mode

Hi @pshashipreetham, look at the article below for this.

Yes, once you change the password, you need to update the platform-setting.json file for connected mode, and you need to restart the server.
Let us know if you have further doubts about it.
Hi @Surya_Tiwari ,
Thanks for the reply. I am looking for the Best option of Licensing instead of hardcoding the platform-settings.json.
Thanks,
