Is not possible to incorporate customized charts (widgets) based on javascript? If that is feasible then highcharts.js, d3.js and others can be used within Thingworx. Any idea how to do that?

Yes it's totally possible.
Look at ThingWorx extensibility options.
The best starting point ( after reading some documentation ) would be downloading this Extension from the Marketplace and playing modifying it : https://marketplace.thingworx.com/Items/Custom%20Chart%20Widgets
