Error while installing ThingWorx 8.5 trial version

No logs are getting generated at installation directory.

Hi @cgoma.

We just updated the trials on Friday.  Are you running the latest (ThingWorx 8.5)?  Which version of Windows are you running?

Did you run the installer more than once?  If so, you will manually need to remove the artifacts that were left by the previous installation.  Also, if the installation still fails on your next attempt, search for the logs BEFORE clicking OK on the error dialog.  Once you click OK, cleanup will be performed removing the logs.

I have downloaded this trial version on 24 Nov.(i.e. on Sunday).

I ran the thingworx 8.5 installer only once. I am trying to install thingworx 8.5 on ubuntu 16.

Please let me know if you have the exact steps which I should be following while installing the thingworx 8.5.

Also how to exactly configure java as when I was working with thingworx 8.4 it was working fine with java openjdk. But when I started using oracle java the thingworx 8.4 stopped working. I am attaching the logs for twx 8.4 version but for 8.5 version the log itself are not getting generated.

Java keytool.exe is required for ThingWorx 8.5 and the default Oracle installation of the Java JRE does not put keytool.exe on your Windows path.

Modify your Windows Path variable from the symlink that the Oracle installer places on your path, to the actual location of the Java executables.

For example: The Oracle Java installer placed this location on my path

C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Oracle\Java\javapath

Change that to the actual Java install directory:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre1.8.0_221\bin

Hi @cgoma.

Fixing the path issue may not solve all of your problems.  We have not been able to get the 8.5 trial installer to work on Ubuntu.  We are workng to get clarification regarding support for that O/S.

We have confirmed that Ubuntu is NOT a supported platform for the trial versions.  We will be pursuing an update on the downloads page to advise this information.
