Ignite VS Redis

Hi,

Why does thingworx choose Ignite as the distributed cache solution instead of  Redis ?   is there any special  consideration ?

Regards,

Sean

Hi @seanccc

I have to reach out to R&D for answering this question.  Here is the response I received:

At the time of the technology selection, Redis clustering was very new and unproven.  Redis didn’t really have the scaling characteristics we needed and didn’t have the data grid features we desired (we use distributed map/reduce to do queries by property values).  Additionally, Redis didn’t have active-active HA in the open source version.

Please let me know if you have further questions.

Regards.
