Not able to find correct thingworx server URL

Hello, 

I am new to thingworx and just installed thingworx foundation but to connect my device to the server I need server URL which in my address bar is "http://localhost:8080/Thingworx/Composer" but it is showing incorrect and it must be in format of IP address ex. "http://34.xxx.141.xxx" So please help me how to find correct URL to connect to my thingworx server any help is appreciated.

Hi @ankit12.

 

The simple answer if you are trying to connect to the url from within your network is to replace localhost with the host name or IP address of the server hosting ThingWorx.  For example:

 

http://servername:8080/Thingworx

http://192.168.168.35:8080/Thingworx

 

However, it may be necessary to check the server firewall to ensure access is being allowed to port 8080 from outside of the host server.

 

If your intention is to set this up for public access, there are a number of considerations.  Your company's network engineering or IT teams would need to be engaged for ensuring all security requirements are being adhered to.

Thank you so much @slangley I got the correct url by replacing localhost with my system's ip address.
