PropertyTransformThing not connected

Hello, I am having trouble with thingworx analytics where my property transform thing does not connect. All the windows services are running, and I can see analytics builder / manager in the composer along with creating models/ etc.

I keep seeing the attached windows events occurring, which are filling up my temp folder when the twpas-property-transform-service is enabled.  When I disable the above service, the events stop.

Following the procedure below, I updated the owner with admin rights for both analytic server / platform analytics with no effect.

https://support.ptc.com/help/thingworx_hc/thingworx_analytics_8/#page/analytics/change_user_windows.html

Running on Thingworx V9.3 and analytics V9.3.

Thank you.

@Ecko665 ,

Thank you for posting your question to the community.

I noticed a few things in your post.

You have indicated that you are using ThingWorx v9.3 but Analytics v9.1 ?

This is not a supported configuration as per the official PTC release advisor matrix. If you desire to use ThingWorx Platform 9.3.x you must be on ThingWorx Analytics 9.3.x and ThingWorx Platform Analytics 9.3.x

https://release-advisor.ptc.com/releaseMatrix?releaseId=869

Please review the compatibility matrix, and either downgrade your Platform, or upgrade your Analytics and Platform Analytics Server. After that is complete, and if you still have issues, please let use know.

Secondly, the guide you are using is for the version 8.x, which is no longer in support. Please use the current documentation on the 9.x HelpCenter, found here: https://support.ptc.com/help/thingworx/analytics/r9/en/

Regards,

Neel

Can you confirm your Platform Analytics version? Also please provide the Windows Host Operating System in use. also please verify that JAVA_HOME and ERLANG_HOME has been set as per the documentation.

You can do that by running the VersionInfo service as documented here:

WIndows: https://support.ptc.com/help/thingworx/analytics/r9/en/#page/analytics/analytics_windows_installation/verify_property_transform_windows.html#

Hello, thanks for the feedback.

When I execute the version info method on the property transform thing, it fails and states the thing is not connected.  We can see the nssm services running.

Java_home env.variable && ERLANG_Home are setup correctly per the documentation and installation paths.  Running on Windows Server 2016.

@Ecko665 ,

I think the best path forward is to open a case with Technical Support as we will need to exchange logs which will contain private information that we should not share on an open forum.

You can open a case here: https://support.ptc.com/apps/case_logger_viewer/cs/auth/ssl/log

Neel

Hello,

I do not have an SCN # which is required when creating a case.  Can a case be created which I can reply to?

Thank you.

@Ecko665 ,

As there are more involved items that need a full case to review, it would be best if you spoke with your sales representative to obtain a SCN.

I cannot open a case on your behalf without an SCN.

If you are able, please Direct Message me your company information and I might be able to find an active SCN.

Please note, I will be out of office at the end of the week, so it would be better if you obtained this info from your sales rep and opened a case on your own.

Regards,

Neel
