Hello everyone,
Our company has supported the implementation of ThingWorx at one of our partner sites, and the platform has now been running successfully for about a year. We are now preparing to work in parallel on a new project at the same site, which will involve additional development work on the ThingWorx platform.
Before we start working alongside the live production environment, we would like to request access to a ThingWorx trial licence. This would allow our team to explore, test, and practice the required development tasks in a safe environment, ensuring that we build the necessary confidence and avoid any risk to the running system.
I have already attempted several times to contact the sales team through the official website, but unfortunately I have not received any response yet.
If someone from PTC or the community could advise us on how to obtain a trial licence or direct us to the appropriate contact person, it would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you very much in advance for your support!
Normally, if you have a prod license you are entitled to development licenses as well, so in the license portal you can just generate a new one.
You can also try to create a support ticket for this.
Hi @AD_13129965.
Rocko's response to your post is spot on. If you already own a production license, you are entitled to set up as many non-prod instances as needed. This will allow your programmers to install local development instances or other non-prod instances for QA, Test, etc.
When you are generating a license for a non-prod instance, you will need to select the following options to ensure your production license count is not reduced:
For more information on licensing, check out the training guide here.
