This article says that "It applies to - ThingWorx Platform 5.4 to 8.5 SP1". So Adding captcha is possible in Thingworx 9.2 version ?

I have checked about captcha in 9.2 and  It is not out of the box. You can put an enhancement request in/post an "idea" on the community board or implement a custom authentication solution.
