Queue Management: Publishing Queue Deleted – How to Bulk Republish CAD Documents in Windchill PDM

Hello Team,

We are using Windchill PDMLink 12.1.2.7.
By mistake, the Publishing / CAD Worker jobs were deleted from Queue Management. After this, publish jobs are no longer available, and visualization/thumbnails are missing for multiple CAD Documents.

The Bulk Republish / Bulk Operations option is not available in the UI, even with Site Administrator access.

Could you please advise:

• Whether deleted publishing queue jobs can be recovered (or confirmed as not recoverable)

• The supported method to bulk republish all CAD Documents and recreate CAD Worker publish jobs

Jobs deleted from the publishing queue CANNOT be recovered.

You can schedule a republishing of all CAD objects without visualization with this command.

Site --> Utilities -->  WVS Job Scheduler Administration 

However, keep in mind that, depending on the number of objects republished, users may have to wait hours, or even days, before seeing the result, and that the queue is FIFO, so all submissions after the mass republishing will be queued behind the others.

If the OOTB solution above doesn't meet your needs, PTC has a publishing customization that allows you to define additional WVS Scheduler jobs and to publish via commandline.

It is tedious to set up, but it gives you flexibility.
