Rename user in AD caused problems

All,

We have a long time user for whom our corporate IT renamed his username in AD.

Now a couple of things for that user are broken:

* The ProductView worker no longer creates reps when he checks-in an object - Here's what's logged in publish job details:

o May 10, 2012 6:03:42 AM:Number of Files (identified to be) Transferred: 0

o May 10, 2012 6:03:43 AM:No content to process

* He can no longer promote - He gets a notification containing this error:

o wt.org.UserNotFoundException: null user

His workspaces were fine through the rename.
All his other permissions are fine also.

When his username was renamed the Windchill name remained the same and his new name was put into the Alternate User Name 1 field.

Any ideas? It seems to be a similar problem to the one reported by Brian in this recent thread "Name Change with AD".

So far no help from tech support even though they've had the case for 6 weeks now.

Thanks,

Mike Foster

We worked out a procedure for changing a contract employee to a permanent employee below. You may be able to reassociate the account using step 2 below since you are using the same account but only renaming it.

STEP 2 - For PDM System Admin

  1. Log into PDM with Site Admin rights and browse to SITE > UTILITIES > BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION > PRINCIPAL ADMINISTRATOR

  2. Click Maintenance then Search Disconnected PrincipalsIt will take a few moments for the Disconnected Principals window to appear. Select All and click OK.

  3. The account will now appear in the list

  4. Click on the EDIT PRINCIPAL BUTTON

  5. Search for the new user ID. When it appears, select it and click OK.

  6. User should now be removed from the DISCONNECTED PRINCIPALS TABLE

  7. Notify Active Directory Admin that these steps are complete
