CS31715: If one has preference Latest Version Search = Yes and that user does not have Read for the Latest Iteration of the Latest Revision, the system returns no search results.

Unlessthis isconfigurable somehow, it will be responsible for us not upgrading to Windchill 10.0, Absolute disaster.

Hello Mike,

We opened this call on October the 5th.
This is a regression that will be fixed.

Cheers,
Morgan

This sounds like out of the box behavior if you do not read permission
granted through the context or ad hoc ACLs. If I create state called 'No
Read' and ACL's are set correctly, and I try to search for it, many
iteration or many version, it would behave similar even if I had access to
the context it resided, much like a folder of a different domain could block
this or a security label. It would be nice to state that results were
found and you do not have access and have that be a preference per Org
context. Do you currently see a different behavior?

If you want to show results to a search and read the metadata for those
results, but not be able to open the content on those documents, then you
can use access control rules to permit "Read" but not "Download."

The result is users who can see all the metadata (names, numbers,
attributes, etc.), but not download the primary or secondary content
without added permissions.

Great. We are planning to upgrade to Windchill 10.0 M020 December 19. Do you know if it will it be fixed in M020, or if a patch for M020 be available?

It's possible I misunderstood the posting (hope so).

Mike,

We have the same process and it's working fine in 9.1
User 1 should see the C released.

We already had this issue in 9.1 with a regression in a temp patch, and that was quickly fixed.

That's just a regression.

Morgan
