Unable to restart Windchill

Just installed Windchill/Intralink 10 and right after the install completed I was able to launch andlogin to the interface.

I was able to stop, start & re-login to windchill with no issue.

I reboot, and try to start Apache, Tomcat and Windchill but have been unsucessfull, the MethodServer launches but after a few seconds closes out.

The log files that I found don't seem to provide any info that helps.

Did you forget to start WindchillDS first?

Chances are (if you are using Oracle) that you TNS Liatener is not started.

Not sure I have ever started the DS

When testing 9.1 I use to use the following:

enter: start C:\PTC\Intralink\Apache\bin\httpd.exe

enter: C:\PTC\Intralink\Tomcat\bin\wttomcat_start.bat (text will scroll with final text being “INFO: Server startup in 13516 ms)

From shell enter: windchill start

Without starting WindchillDS, the windchill Methodserver will just freak out and dies as you described. I think you should check to make sure all your services are started windchillDS, Apache, tomcat, Methodsever and oracle.

Checked and TNSListener was started

When I was testing 9.1 awhile back I was also checking that Aphelion Administration, Drive Mapping and Services were starting as windows services. When I look at windows services I don't see them even listed

Aphelion has been replaced with WindchillDS for 10.
It must be started before anything else.

You should install all of the Windchill programs as Autostart services.

Bob,
Before starting the windchill just check if Database and
Aphelion/WindchillDS are up and running, Then go for Apache, Tomcat (Which
is in MS from Windchill 10) and Windchill Server.
If there is still an issue paste the Log file here .

Aphelion isn't used in R10 -- WindchillDS is.

WindchillDS is not installed as a Windows service automatically / by
default.

Jess is correct. WindchillDS is the replacement for Aphelion in Windchill 10. If you are running aphelion with windchill 10, chances are that it probably isn't going to work and your installation was not done correctly.

With respect to the dicussion below, shouldn't the intsallation check list
check this ?
Also i was refereing Aphelion with respect to the LDAP Server.

May I trouble someone to paste the actually steps I need to execute after a reboot to have it launch successfully. I must be missing something?

For instance I don’t see anything in chapter 25 page 407 of the Windchill Installation & Configuration Guide on how to start the DataServer or Tomcat

I first want to manually start everything and then later I’ll try and automate it.

Navigate to <windchillds>\server\bat. Double-click the control panel command
