What is the difference between Windchill commercial and windchill academics

I could be wrong but I think you are referring to licensing, commercial vs. educational or academic licenses. I know PTC offers Creo and other CAD tools for students and schools for free. I am not sure about Windchill with the exception of First Robotics.  As far as the differences, functionally, there is no difference.

This link is old and should have been taken down by PTC. The Academic Windchill server was decommissioned last summer and PTC is no longer hosting academic programs in Windchill. They have strongly encouraged all of their academic program participants to move to Onshape.
