Where-used functionality/report

I am using Windchill PDMLink Release 12.1 and Datecode with CPS 12.1.0.2

Our customer requires a report detail list(CSV) of documents that contain links to other documents (details about the XML link and the linked to item). Is there existing functionality in Windchill that we can use (we have access to the Windchill jars and APIs or this may be available on the GUI) to generate this report? What would be the simplest way to generate such a report? The end goal of this it to 'unshare' items that have sufficient differences that they cannot be shared.

This article explains how to build a report to extract documents that reference each other.

How to build a Query Builder Report to display the 'Reference Documents' and 'Refrenced By' data of a document in Windchill PDMLink.

However, it is not clear to me what you are trying to achieve.
Some more detailed explanation would be helpful.

Thank you for your response

The XML manuals contain refs/links to other manuals when they pull in shared content. They need details about the source manual and details about the referenced manual. They need a list of all such links. For this list, they will review the shareability of the referenced section and break the link as desired (thus creating a "non shared" section that can be unique to the document instead of containing generic text). The reasons they are doing this are not my concern :).

But is what you're talking about related to Arbortext?

Because what you've described doesn't seem to refer to Windchill to me.

Marco

Well the Windchill database holds information about the shared section links, and the Arbortext Editor application displays the results of the database data and pulls in the shared sections. The link you posted above could contain the solution since a SQL call could produce the report that is desired if the correct tables are invoked. I will investigate that since it seems useful.
