 Thanks for looking.  🙂 I have a laptop running a fresh install of Arbortext 8.2.2.1.  As in, freshly installed this morning.  I also have a desktop running Arbortext 8.1.2.0. The new install of 8.2.2.1 will not render .eps files.  It will render SVG files, but not .eps. View Graphics is checked. Arbortext 8.2.2.1 does not report the graphics as missing if I do a completeness check. If I double-click an eps file icon in Arbortext, it opens the .eps file in Adobe Illustrator.    I copied the file set with .eps art over to my desktop, running 8.1.2.0,  which renders the .eps files just fine.  I tried a couple of other file sets using .eps art with 8.2.2.1, and it does not render .eps files from any of those publications.  Is 8.2.2.1 specifically broken?  Or am I missing a setting somewhere? Thanks in advance,  Dan

Hi, Next to the PDF export from Arbortext Styler we want to export HTML manuals.We succeeded to publish HTML manuals. Per manual a folder structure with some CSS files, graphics and a lot of HTML files (one HTML file per topic created in Arbortext). Also the navigation tree at the left side of each HTML page is working fine. Linking from one HTML page to another is also working fine.But, we are missing a search feature that search in all HTML files of the manual. How do we best implement such a search feature? Kind regards,Johan Van DyckeDocumentation Barco

Hi, I am having the exact same issue going from Editor v7 on one computer, to 8.2 on another computer. It gave me error A15014 and couldnt  blah blah blah "-//arbortext//DTD XSL fo-result//EN" "xsl-fo.dtd". I checked the file structures and they look the same. So I am at a loss at what to do. So I updated arbortext  (via tools>preference>catalog path) to the xsl-fo folder (referenced in the catalog file in Arbortext Editor 8.2/doctypes) Now I am getting error A15000 Unable to load document type due to errors parsing DTD"C:\program files\PTC\Arbortext Editor 8.2\doctypes\xsl-fo.dtd" Anyway, all this to say, I think the catalog file is pointing to the right xsl-fo.dtd but not sure why its not being picked up. Update 1I removed the direct path to the xsl-fo dtd file to resolve A15000.I also shuffled around the order of the paths for the catalog. We have tables drafted in Excel 2016 that have line breaks within cells. When we paste these tables into Arbortext Editor (v8.1.1) the breaks are not retained. Is it possible to preserve line breaks when pasting a table from Excel? Thanks in advance.

I tried to open an xml file that was created with dtd 40051C_6_3. I am using Arbortext Editor 8.2. When I select I DTD, I get a message that says Arbortext Editor is unable to load the document type due to errors parsing the DTD. I am fairly new to setting up Arbortext Editor and am completely lost. Can anyone help?

I cannot get the Resource Manager Content Reference tab to insert a content reference to a topic in a DITA map. no matter where I put the cursor in the map after selecting a topic, the Insert button never becomes active. How can you do this?

Hello, I would like to ask your opinion or help on the following faults encountered in Arbor text 8.2.1. During PDF export, the image cannot be displayed even if the graphics path is already set to the right path?2. Can we utilize the DTD from version 6 in version 8.2?3. Hello, we've setup Windchill (12.0.2.x) with SSO , and Microsoft Entra ID as the CAS and IdP, which is explained in:Microsoft Entra ID as the CAS and IdP for Windchill (ptc.com)This is working fine for Creo, Windchill and Arbortext. But once SSO is enabled, publishing fails, references can't be found:Anyone faced similar issue?  best regards,Stijn 

We are currently using Arbortext 8.2 and would like to know how we can get the absolute offset (starting from the top of the document) of selected/highlighted text. We have tried looking into the ACL commands and have not found any.Any help with how to achieve this will be highly appreciated.Thanks,Willy.

I have installed and reinstalled Arbortext 8.2.2.0 several times now chosing the Print Composer option (yes Print Composer is on my license file say for 8.2). However PDF option is not where in the export on the menu...Please help

I need to call a method right after a file is opened in the editor.Is there such an event somewhere ?  I can't find it. Thanks.

We're doing an upgrade from Arbortext 8.1 to 8.2 and use a floating license on the peserver. From the help text (https://support.ptc.com/help/arbortext/r8.2.1.0/en/index.html#page/PE%2Fpeinstall%2Fpe1004.html%23) I can read that I need a locked license for 8.2. I can also read that I cannot use my old license if it's used for 8.1. However, in the license portal it says 8.2 under revision.So my questions are:Do I need to change my Arbortext publishing engine license from floating to locked?Do I need to get a new license for  Arbortext publishing engine, or can I use the one I have since it says "revision 8.2"?Thanks!

Hi Folks,I am working on some XML that uses XSL-FO engine to create a PDF. In particular, this stylesheet is capable of building a glossary that is automatically inserted into the <glossary> element in my XML doc. The stylesheet that I use calls up 3 files;a stylesheet that changes the appearance of the glossary,a file that contains all the glossary terms and definitions, anda transformation XSL. The XSL file fills the <glossary> element in my working XML with <glossterm>s found in said XML. It matches the glossterms in my XML with the 'repo' (in the point above). Currently, I am trying to build the same PDF using Styler (APP engine). The XML I am working withWhere the glossary is inserted:book- section-- title glossary-- <glossary> Entries to populate glossarysection- para <glossterm>XYZ</glossterm> What I need to get in PDF:GlossaryXYZ ----- XYZ Definition ------Could someone help me with this?

A new version of Arbortext Editor/Styler/Publishing Engine is available on the software downloads site.   Version 8.2.2.1 fixes an issue with authoring SGML documents.  8.2.2.1 will be replacing the 8.2.2.0 versions.   Note that the fix for SPR 14650058: "Performance issues when working with large documents that have a flat structure" which had been fixed in Arbortext Editor 8.2.2.0 is reverted in Arbortext Editor 8.2.2.1. The SPR will be addressed in a future release.

Hello,I want to use PDF Form Field functionality (in ATX 8.2.2) on the Title Page of the book(via page region with the Text Generated Content) but in vain. PDF creation is aborted with Error message PDFlib Warnings:create_field: Invalid field pathname 'textField_0' (name 'textField_0' already exists) The PDF form fields usage inside xml document works correctly according manual: ATX_HOME\samples\APP\PDFFormFields. Is it possible to use this functionality in the Page Layouts (by using Styler only, without editing in ALD) ? Thanks for helpJana

Version: 8.2.1.0 I also have installed version 8.1.2.1 in another directory. Opening PTC Arbortext with a client, there is an issue while calling open_connect() which crashes the app leaving me with an error window: editor.exe: Unexpected error: Invalid C -runtime parameter.

Hi, We're trying to eliminate an element used throughout our document in Arbortext, but retain the text it's wrapped in. The issue is nearly resolved following the solution provided in this topic:Solved: Re: Remove <P> element from a table - PTC Community This solution works for our issue, but only for tags in tables. Our target tag could have any parent. Hi together,from the Arbortext Editor i can only find a deployment kit version of 8.1.Is it planned to publish a deployment kit version of 8.2. in the near future? So we could use this version.  

I need to add a callback on when the DELETE key is pressed.  I don't need to change the behavior of the key pressing but only to detect it and being able to run a function additionally to the normal process. Thanks for your time.
