12V Blower motor orientation question

This question is not particularly pro/e related but more of a design issue.

I got a blower fan with integrated motor about 5inch length 4" diameter
brushed motor. Its cheap from spal. In my application I want to use it side
ways so the inlets are bottom and top with outlet to the side. This means
the motor has to be with the rotor oriented vertically, so the weight will
be affecting the life of the bearings. Lets assume we have no idea what type
of bearing it has. I'm inclined to have the motors shaft pointing down
rather than up. What are your thoughts?

I thought maybe brush dust would drop away from the commutator where it can
cause heating and shorts. But I have also seen the dust forming a bridge
between magnets and rotor laminations. That obviously has other effects.
Finally the original question was about bearings, so without knowledge of
what is used, what would be the best orientation and why?

regards,

Alfonso
