Hi ,
Anyone can help me to create a mobile thermal loads for a welding process, knowing that I have just the spatial function of the load.
Thanks
Bye
As I see it, the spatial load can have a function over location (x,y,z) and a second function scaling over time (t).
You would need a function of all four "dimensions" to describe a moving load, so it seems this is not possible the easy way.
Does anybody have an idea how one could simulate a moving load for a transient analysis specific for thermal or in general?
Hi,
Thanks Gunter but Simulate can model mobile thermal loads:
By modeling the mobile charges with spatiotemporal combined functions .
By modeling the thermal loads on composite curves.
By defining the thermal loads as arc length functions.
You are right, thank you for the hint!
So you first have to set Spatial Variation as Function of Coordinates or Function of Arc Length, before you get the option Combine Spatial and Temporal Functions (that's why I didn't see the option before).
In the combined function you can then have X,Y,Z and time or curve parameter s and time, to define a moving load.
