I would like to be able to find out the reference dimension from the blue lines to my orange sketch, but the "Reference" button is greyed out. Help me please.
I'm using Creo 2.0
On a nearby computer, my colleague is able to add this reference measurement. I tried to import its configuration settings - it didn't help. Just in case, I will attach a file with my configuration settings.
If you suspect it is related to your config then launch Creo using your colleague's config settings and test it on your machine. Without the model it is unlikely someone can troubleshoot this.
I did exactly what you suggested. Another settings file did not fix the situation. This happens to me in all my models. My colleague does not have this in the same models. But I don't mind attaching the model file 🙂
You labeled the OP with 2D drawing. Are you in drawing mode or part mode when experiencing this issue?
I'm sorry, I've only been working in Creo for a month, so I may not know exactly the terminology. I want to make a Sweep my trace. I click sweep and then go inside the sketch (by clicking on the pencil at the top left). And this is where I have the issue. Thank you so much for helping me!
This would indicate that you are in part mode redefining the sketch for a sweep feature (part mode not drawing mode). I am able to add reference dimensions in the sketch for the same sweep feature using Creo 7.0.10.0.
Check to make sure that you and your colleague are using the same date code build for Creo 2. If you are running the same date code of Creo then I would open a support call with PTC.

You were right! 🙂 My computer has M040, and my colleague's computer has M100.
I will try to figure out what it is and how to change it.
M100 is a newer build. It is possible that there was a bug in the earlier build. I would install M100 on your machine.
PTC will not open a call for software that is beyond its extended end-of-life date. Creo 2 has been beyond that date for many years.
That is a good point. I would hope PTC would help someone with maintenance search for known issues in the support database. I am still working with organizations on Creo 4 and that is no longer supported but I have been able to get support for issues. Sometimes the answer is that issue us fixed in Creo 7 or higher so you should upgrade.
