Detailing Mode - middle button does not cancel break command

I run Creo 11.0.0.0 on two computer, my laptop running Win10 and on my PC running win11.

But they both have developed the same issue: which is the middle button does not cancel the break command.

When detailing I wish to break a dimension leader line, so I pick the leader line, RMB and pick the break option. I LMB two places on the leader line where I want the break. The leader line breaks. Now I MMB to cancel the break command to move onto more tasks. But this does not cancel the command and leaves the break command dialogue box sitting there open.

This issue started a few moths ago (July 2024) when I was running 9.0.3.0 so I upgraded to 11.0.0.0 and the issue was still there, So may be a window/Java/driver update, but, I have reinstalled both of these and still have the issue.

Anyone else have this problem?

Hi,

test of Creo 7.0.11.0, Creo 9.0.2.0, Creo 10.0.4.0

  • click Break button
  • select 1st point on 1st witness line
  • select 2nd point on 1st witness line
  • break is created
  • Break button remains active
  • select 1st point on 2nd witness line
  • select 2nd point on 2nd witness line
  • break is created
  • click MMB
  • Break button was deactivated

test of Creo 11.0.0.0

  • click Break button
  • select 1st point on 1st witness line
  • select 2nd point on 1st witness line
  • break is created
  • Break button remains active ... unfortunately I cannot break another witness line

Conclusion ... I guess it is Creo 11.0.0.0 bug.

Suggestions: Install Creo 11.0.2.0 and test its behaviour. If the problem persists, the notify PTC Support.

Hi,

test of Creo 11.0.2.0 ... success ... works as expected.

This is how I fixed it after I installed 11.0.2.0 which gave a java version notification warning during the installation.

Un-installed Java and Corretto. Downloaded and installed amazon-corretto-21.0.4.7.1-windows-x64. Then downloaded and installed JavaSetup8u421. Install 11.0.2.0

Started Creo and the break command works 😉

I think there may still be a bug. Sometimes when creating the break, after clinking the two points to break between a third click is require on the part on the line which is to be removed. This is a bit strange!

Testing with Creo + (aka Creo 12.0.0.1-001)

I see similar. It gets stuck on break and doesn't let me select anything else until I specifically click on another command. Oddly, I tried again and then it seemed to work correctly (correctly for me was it let me select something else immediately after breaking witness line) for a couple of breaks and then started again with not getting out of the command and not letting me do anything again until I selected a different command. That's annoying. I want consistent, good or bad, not random.

You should open a support ticket I think.

Hi

I am glad in a way that is it not just me. I am going to install the latest cut and report back
