Different constraint sets for different simplified reps

is it possible to have different constraint sets for different simplified reps i have found a couple similar threads but they are all using it as a subassembly. such as this video.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UHPnkSguUQE

The video is using flexibility to change constraint sets of a sub assembly when assembled.  Simplified reps cannot control constraint sets.  The best you could do with simplified reps is add the component twice, in different positions, and use simplified reps to pick which one to show.

There is always more to learn in Creo.

i was avoiding using multiple components for the simplified reps because my structure will then show the incorrect # of components, but if thats the only solution so be it.

Simplified reps filter what is displayed. If you need to control the location, # of, or inclusion of a component in an assembly simp reps are not the correct tool for that. You can explore Pro/program, Notebooks, Creo Options Modeler extension which have functionality to address your requirements.

I would avoid assembly family tables and only state this as someone is likely to suggest this to you as an option. It will be a painful option in all but trivial cases.

No family tables lol

Haha, familty tables is probably the reason you are trying to find a better solution!

"painful option in all but trivial cases"...yaaa, that is probably an understatement!

do we know if this is possible in creo 10?

To control constaint sets with simplified reps? No, not possible.

It's very unlikely PTC will go that direction with simplified reps. It doesn't really fit the large assembly management purpose for the tool.

Sometimes its better to state your end goal instead of what you think your solution may be. Simplified reps have been  used for many purposes but it's primary goal is large assembly management.

Based on your end goal, maybe there are much better solutions!
