Editing dimension text

Hello,

ProE assigns default dimension name to the sketch such as sd0,sd1 & so on.....I want to know the procedure to change thistext to the one I want.

like sd0 = 10 to Length = 10

I don't think you can change the sd# values but once it is actually a
feature, you get just d# values. You can edit the d# to a name by
simply RMB the dimension and select properties. Then under the
Dimension Text tab, edit the name.

If you change the dimension text from @d to @s, you'll be able to see the name in the graphics window. I think it'll show up on drawings, too.

There are a few names that are not allowed, like 'g' and other symbols proe has reserved.

It also shows up in family tables, which makes them much easier to deal
with.

If you're wanting to do this in a model:

  • double click the feature to get into edit mode

OR

  • select the feature and right click and pick "Edit"
  • click "Info" drop-down menu
  • click "Show Dimensions" in the info menu
  • click on the dimension you want to rename
  • right click and select "Properties..."
  • click on the "Dimension Text" tab
  • rename your dimension in the "Name" field
