Is it a shortfall of Creo?

Hi,

In the official site, it is advertised that using Creo direct express (Free version) small quick changes can be handled by users like FEA team and such. However, in the FAQ sheet of this free version it also says that exporting IGES, STEP or SAT is NOT possible. If that is the case, then how do you expect an FEA user to make use of this if he wants to analyse using FEA tools like Ansys or Cosmos or any such software?

Ideally FEA users would like to tweak the models to suit their needs and then export it to the relevant FE modeling softwares to carry out the analysis. But if you dont have an option to export the tweaked model then how can it be used in the FEA world? Is this not contradicting the advertising on the PTC site itself?

Or is it simply that i am missing something critical here? I would like to be educated about this earnestly. Would appreciate coments and replies.

Best regards,

Mohan

You need the full, paid version of Creo Direct to export to files like IGES, STEP, etc.
