The problem with routing a multilevel cable is;
1. The overall diameter does not autoroute
2. The PTC fix is to create and modify an overbraid. It's a manual process, but the overall cable diameter is not correct.
An SPR 2256306 has been filed for the issue and is being investigated
by R&D.

Hello Ray,
I assume you accidentally created this new thread, when this one already existed for it: Multi level Cables versus Single level Cables
But whether yes or no, I'd be interested in the reason for the duplicate.
As you know we have switched to the new Jive version for the forum and we are tracking and reporting issues.
If there is a flaw or a less than intuitive function in the user interface that has "tricked" you, I'd love to learn about it.
Thanks,
Gunter
hello all ,I trying to create 18 core cable with sheath over the overbraid, its single cable only, if some could plse help me how to do?
Please forgive me if this is in a total wrong place, I'm new at this. I believe my question is related to Ray's. I'm also having difficulty getting the correct diameter of a ribbon cable conductors. When I go to the spool "electrical parameters" there isn't one for diameter and also there should be one for "pitch". Is there a way to assign dia. to conductors
The diameter is called THICKNESS.
PITCH is about the threading of the conductor, right? This is probably too detailed information for cabling.
I've tried "thickness", whatever number I used, it made no change on the ribbon. What does change is WIDTH but it isn't logical I have to keep playing with the number until it's close. I haven't tried, but do you think I should add the thickness to each conductor?
Some of the parameters have an effect on the 3D representation of the cables/wires/bundles, others are available just for informative reason (reports, etc...).
If the parameter has no influence on the geometry, it must be only "cosmetic", which comes as a surprise to me.
However, I am surprised! In a quick test with a ribbon cable, when I change the THICKNESS parameter of a conductor in the spool, the effect gets visible after regenerating (verified with Creo Parametric 2.0 M170, see picture, conductor 1 is red)

Gunter
