Hello
I am trying to setup WebLink and my company (govt)firewall and internet settings dont let me add a site zone. While, reading "Hello Word" tutorial by chris lewis, I dont think i will be able to add any site unless iinstall a http server (ie. apache). Are my chances to run WebLink slim? should i bother continueortry to learn J-Link?
i am running W5.0 &Windchill 9.1. I am trying to update/modify/delete parameters (start parts)and relations, export 3dpdf, etc.
thanks
Hi Joe,
I think that WebLink is a very smart solution for begin programming. Often you can create a Network shared folder that you connect as a drive. Than you can use the files from there to start you're weblink code. You need to add youre own PC to the shared sites, thats the only possible way to get Web/Link to work.
One other step you shouldn't forget is to activate the .Web/Link in you configuration. It's the key : web_enable_javascript = on.

If you want to check if J-Link is a solution for your work, I've created a free to use solution at my company. So you can download it at http://mp.inneo.com (first register, than login, than download-area, Model Processor). You can download it and use it for free with 20 actions. It can add, edit, delete parameters and relations on actual model and written as an asynchronous J-Link Tool.
Best regards,
Eike
