Separate parts from an imported feature assembly

Hello everyone,

I currently work on a damper assembly which was imported from another software.

So I've got a part which is only composed of an imported feature.

The fact is that when I "edit definition" of this imported feature, I can see all the different components thanks to the "Import DataDoctor" but I can't do anything with it, i can just select them but copy and paste these component in an empty part doesn't work.

Do you have an idea of how i should proceed to recover the different parts of this assembly ?

Many Thanks,

Florian LOUIS

Florian,

If that data is of assembly, try importing that as assembly in Creo.

Still if it is a part only, One of the options, bit time consuming and you may not like that ....

Open data in Creo > Edit definition on Import feature > Here you will get a list of Surfaces of component ID > Leave only one Component id set and delete others > Come out of IDD > Save that as a new file with new name and processed for the same for another one.

Thank you for the very fast answer !

Ok so I don't have the choice, let's go for hours of delete and save !

Thanks a lot

BTW in which format you got the data i.e. STEP or IGES .......

If it was an assembly export, you can try assembly on import..

Hi,

ask your partner to recreate export file as assembly.
