I am running thru a drw now for an example. Opened a drw not using any
simplified reps. Created a rep called 01-Working.
I can go into Properties Models and set the rep to 01-Working, now when I
add a view it is of 01-Working.
For WF 4.0 double click the view, go to view states, simplified reps.
01-Working and it will replace the rep with 01-Working
It will warn you if you have associated views they will be replaced too,
such as projections, aux. etc.
If the Smart parts list was using the mater rep you will need to go to
repeat regions Model/Rep, select the table, select the model,
open, select 01-Working, confirm, and now the parts lists is reading the
rep 01-Working.
RMB to properties in the field of the drw, select drw models, remove rep,
master rep.
Next and important is to erase not displayed, this will remove the models
not used in the 01-Working rep from Ram.
Although with the way Pro-E code is written it may not clear the memory
being used. Next session of pro if you open only the rep
discluding models not wanted in ram or them drw you can see a significant
difference. Keep in mind drws can be effected by
the graphics card slowing functions. The more sheets cross sectionals and
detail will tax the Graphics card.
I have tried geometry and graphic reps in past versions but did not like
the results of detail, maybe they have improved it. Something like using
read only parts and assemblies that do not regen.
I also have Auto-Regen turned off so the views do not constantly regen. In
extreme cases views can be temporarily hidden as to free up graphics
taxing
You should be able to do the same in WF 2, I have used this many years.
