What does "open_builder_in_mt_mode" do?

Hi,
does anyone have any idea how the config.pro "open_builder_in_mt_mode " option works?
In the guide i find this indication:
"Open the variant builder in Model Tree Selection mode" but I can't figure out what it does.
By default it is set to "no".
Can anyone tell me what it does and if you use it?
Thank you

P.S. i'm using creo 9.0.2.0

My guess is that it's related to Creo Options Modeler. "Variant Builder" is a tool to build your configuration when using that extension:
