graphics performance - summary so far

Hello all -

Thanks for the replies. I am seeing that most folks point to the video
driver version. That does check out fine and both are running the same
version.

One suggested running the OCUS benchmark. I ran that once in 2000i when I
got a new machine and wanted to compare it to another... It seemed like a
lot of time to set it up to run and I am not sure the output from that test
would provide me with any insight into our problem. Am I wrong in thinking
that?

One suggested comparing the CPU cycles and mem usage in task manager. Great
idea - we will look at that.

I am surprised no one hopped on the service pack difference. No thoughts on
that?

Thanks again...

-Nathan

Another thing to check would be to see if the graphics is set to win_32_gdi on the slow computer for some reason.

A second thing to check would be if there is a screen management utility installed for dual monitors or something like that. I had a co-worker with dual monitors who installed a utility to stretch wallpaper across both monitors and some other "pretty" things and that forced Pro/ENGINEER out of opengl mode.
